How To Structure High-Converting SMS Campaigns

Email Shakeup

Hey there, Tarun from Milkshake again🥤
Most ecommerce brands treat SMS like email’s annoying little sibling.
Blast it. Hope for the best. Move on.
But here’s the truth:
SMS is a conversion machine… if you structure it properly.
Here’s how we build SMS campaigns that actually drive revenue 👇
1. Start With The Hook (First 5 Words)
You’ve got seconds to catch attention.
The first 3-5 words should create curiosity or urgency.
Examples:
“Back in stock 🔥”
“You forgot something…”
“Only 12 hours left ⏳”
“Your exclusive code →”
Pro tip: Lead with value, not fluff. Emojis help.
Jaxxon Example SMS:
In the example below, Jaxxon captures the attention of the user by highlighting their 20% off sitewide sale in the first line of the SMS.

2. State Clear Offer Or Message
One message. One outcome.
Bad: “Shop now!”
Good: “Get 15% off bestsellers - today only.”
If there’s no clear incentive or benefit, you’ll lose the click.
Jaxxon Example SMS:
After clearly stating their hook, Jaxxon explains the offer and code immediately in a clear, concise, easy-to-digest manner.

3. Include A Tap-Ready CTA Link
Always use short links that go directly to a relevant page (no homepage links).
Examples:
Back in stock? → direct product page
Flash sale? → curated collection
VIP drop? → exclusive landing page
CTA examples:
“Shop now”
“Claim your code here”
“See the collection”
Jaxxon SMS Example:
Lastly, Jaxxon clearly state the CTA “Shop now”, followed by a shortened URL that adheres to SMS best practices.

4. Bonus Tip: Segment For Intent
Want better ROI? Don’t send the same SMS to everyone.
Segment by:
✅ Clicked but didn’t buy
âś… VIPs or high-LTV customers
âś… Location or product interest
More relevancy = more revenue.
Quick Recap
SMS isn’t about writing more.
It’s about saying the right thing in the shortest space possible.
Tight copy. Clear offer. Sharp link.
That’s what gets the tap.
