The Quickest Email Hack for Higher AOV

Email Shakeup

Hey there, Tarun from Milkshake again🥤

Looking for a quick way to increase average order value (AOV) without discounts or adding friction?

Here’s one of our favorite hacks:

Add a simple cross-sell block into your post-purchase or abandoned cart emails.

It takes less than 5 minutes to set up and consistently adds 5-10% more revenue per order. 👇

How It Works

Add a product block after your main CTA (like “Complete Purchase” or “Track Order”) that recommends a complementary item.

Think:

  • “You might also love…”

  • “Pair it with…”

  • “Customers also bought…”

Example:

  • Someone adds a protein powder → show shaker bottle, sample packs, or apparel

  • Bought a pair of jeans → show matching belt or care kit

Use dynamic blocks in Klaviyo to auto-populate based on what’s in their cart or what they just bought.

How To Set It Up In Klaviyo

Step 1: Pick your email(s)

Start with high-performing automations like:

  • Abandoned Cart

  • Checkout Reminder

  • Post-Purchase

  • Order Shipped / Delivered

Step 2: Add a dynamic product block

Use Klaviyo’s “Recommended Products” or “Product Feed” content block.

Pull from one of these sources:

  • “Product catalog > Similar to item in cart”

  • “Customers who bought X also bought…”

  • “Best sellers in [product category]”

Step 3: Add a header + CTA

Example copy:

  • “You might also love…”

  • “Pair it with this”

  • “Bundle and save more”

Step 4: Keep the design minimal

Use a 1-2 product layout with image, short title, and CTA.

Don’t overwhelm… this is meant to be additive, not distracting.

Quick Recap

You’ve already paid to get them on the site.

This block lets you squeeze more value out of every click… and it’s dead simple to implement.
